What is the best time to come to Schlitterbahn?
To avoid crowds, visit Schlitterbahn on a weekday or if you plan on visiting during the weekends, come early or late in the season. Weekends in April, May, early June, late August, and September are less crowded than weekends in July and early August. Whenever you come, plan to arrive early--Schlitterbahn is a big place and you'll want to experience it all.

What time does the afternoon discount rate begin?
The afternoon discount rate begins at 3:00 p.m. during summer operations and at 2:00 pm during the Wasserfest Indoor Season

If I purchase a two-day pass, do I have to use it on consecutive days?
No, you may use the second day at a later date at the park where it was purchased. You must, however, use the pass prior to the end of the summer season during which it was bought. Two-day passes are not transferable or refundable and must be used by the same person for each visit.

Where can I get discounted tickets?
We have a variety of options for groups of 15 or more and Schlitterbahn Waterparks supports active military members by offering military discount admission tickets at most active-duty- military installations in the state of Texas, as well as several military installations in Louisiana and Oklahoma. Discounted tickets are available at ITT or ITR offices. Please note that Ft. Sam Houston, located in the greater San Antonio area, have tickets available at the Sam Houston Club.

Do I have to pay even if I don't get into the water?
Yes, with all the great water attractions at Schlitterbahn Galveston Island you won't want to stay out of the water! Besides our thrilling slides and blasters, there are relaxing pools, rivers, hot tubs, and swim-up bars.

Can I bring a picnic to the park?
You are more than welcome to bring your own family picnic basket into the park, but you don't need to. Schlitterbahn Galveston Island offers a wide variety of fun foods and beverages throughout the park. If you do bring a picnic, please do not bring alcohol or glass containers.  All ice chests and picnic supplies are checked upon entry.

Is there shade?
Shaded seating is provided throughout the park, but we urge everyone to protect delicate skin from the sun with sunscreen, hats, beach footwear, and lightweight shirts. You may bring these items with you or purchase them in one of our gift shops.

Do you have life jackets and kid's tubes available?
We have a limited number of life jackets for our guests at no charge. They're available on all of our river beaches on a first-come first-serve basis. You may also bring your own life jacket. We do have a limited number of kid's tubes, or tubes with bottoms. Kid's tubes are complimentary and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Guests may not use their own recreational floatation devices in the waterpark. Personal life-jackets are always welcome!

What about toddlers?
Schlitterbahn Galveston Island has several water playgrounds for kids. For the smallest children, Wasserfest Kids’ Playground, Tiki Tikes, Treasure Island's Kid's Pool and play structures on the Torrent Beach have been designed with toddlers in mind.

What if there is bad weather on the day of my visit?
If you are concerned about the weather on the day of your visit, check out the forecast before you come. In the event of rainstorm, Schlitterbahn attractions remain open and the Wasserfest convertible section will be enclosed for indoor operation.  If there is lightning in the area, guests will be asked to exit the water until the lightning passes, and then the rides will reopen. Since the waterpark will remain open even on rainy days, we do not offer rain checks or refunds.

Are there height requirements on the rides?
Schlitterbahn uses an attraction rating system for all water attractions.  An information sign is posted at each attraction entrance with ride descriptions, thrill rating and skills required for riding.

Riders must be at least 42 inches to experience the Loopy Luge and Guada-Loopy tube chutes and must be at least 48 inches to ride Rohr!, Faust and Furious, Cliffhangers, and the F5 Twin Twister bodyslides.

What do we do if our party gets separated?
Make sure the kids who are old enough to be on their own know when and where to check in periodically for sunscreen and drink breaks. Schlitterbahn does not page for lost parties. Children should be instructed in advance that, if they do become separated, they should notify a Schlitterbahn employee. All separated parties will be taken to the nearest Guest Services location.

Do you have changing facilities?
Changing areas are located in the bathrooms at the main Castle Village.  Please be sure to bring swim diapers for infants. Regular diapers are not permitted in any pool or attraction. Swim diapers are available at the gift shops.

Do you have a place for valuables?
It is best to leave them at home. Please don't bring them into the park or leave them exposed in your car. Lock money and keys in a locker instead of keeping them in pockets where they may fall out in the rides. Schlitterbahn is not responsible for items that are lost or stolen in the park or in the parking lots. (Lockers are available for a fee plus deposit. The deposit is refunded when the key is returned.) We recommend putting vehicle keys in a locker along with your valuables or securing them so they don't fall out of your pocket.

Schlitterbahn also offers "Splash Cash®" which are waterproof wristbands with tabs in several denominations that can be used for food, beverages and gift shop purchases throughout the park. Splash Cash® may be purchased at ticket booths, gift shops and locker rental locations. Unused tabs, which are still attached to the wristband, may be redeemed for cash at the end of the day at any register location. You may still have change to deal with, so zippered pockets or cash totes are handy ways to carry loose coins.

Glasses will come off on some rides, so secure them with a neck strap (available at our gift shops).

Do you have a lost and found?
Any one of our Guest Services locations can assist you with lost and found items. You may also call the lost and found department at 409.770.9283, ext. 4104.
