What is the best time to come to Schlitterbahn?

For the best experience, visit Schlitterbahn on a weekday. If you must plan your visit on a weekend, we suggest weekends early or late in the season, or on a Sunday in late June, July and early August. Saturdays in late June, July and early August are the most popular days to visit the park, and you may experience longer waits for admission and attractions and limited availability of picnic tables, loungers and tubes. Whenever you do choose a day to visit, plan to arrive early--Schlitterbahn is a big place and you'll want to experience it all.
 

What time does the afternoon discount rate begin?

Schlitterbahn does offer an afternoon discount rate that begins at 3:00 p.m. during summer operation and at 2:00 pm during the Indoor Waterpark Season. Discounted afternoon tickets are not available for purchase online, and can only be purchased at the park after the set time.  Guests who purchase all-day prepaid tickets and arrive at the park at the start of the afternoon rate will not receive a partial or full refund.     

If I purchase a two-day pass, do I have to use it on consecutive days?

No, you may use the second day at a later date at the park where it was purchased. You must, however, use the pass prior to the end of the year and season during which it was bought (spring indoor season, summer season, fall indoor season). Two-day passes are not transferable or refundable and must be used by the same person for each visit.

Where can I get discounted tickets?

For the best discount, purchase your tickets in advance, online.
 
Summer prepaid retail tickets may be purchased at a discount at participating Kroger, HEB and Valero retail locations in or near the gift card area.

Do I have to pay even if I don't get into the water?

Yes, with all the great water attractions at Schlitterbahn Galveston Island you won't want to stay out of the water! Besides our thrilling slides and blasters, there are relaxing pools, rivers, hot tubs, and swim-up bars.

Can I bring a picnic to the park?

You are more than welcome to bring your own family picnic basket and ice chests inside the park. Please do not bring glass containers or alcohol. All ice chests and picnic supplies are inspected prior to entering the park. Schlitterbahn Galveston Island also offers a wide variety of fun foods and beverages throughout the park for those who do not wish to bring their own picnic.

Is there shade?

Shaded seating is provided throughout the park, but we urge everyone to protect delicate skin from the sun with sunscreen, hats, beach footwear, and lightweight shirts. You may bring these items with you or purchase them in one of our gift shops. 

During the summer season, our park offers a limited number of cabanas that are available for advance rental on a first-come-first serve basis. The cabanas are located in the Blastenhoff area of the waterpark. Private cabana rentals are not available during the Heated Indoor Season.  Learn more about private cabana rentals.

Do you have life jackets and kid's tubes available?

We have a limited number of life jackets for our guests at no charge. They're available on all of our river beaches on a first-come first-serve basis. You may also bring your own life jacket. We do have a limited number of kid's tubes, or tubes with bottoms. Kid's tubes are complimentary and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Guests may not use their own recreational flotation devices in the waterpark. Personal life-jackets are always welcome!

What about toddlers?

Schlitterbahn Galveston Island has attractions for smaller children in every section of the park, so there's always something to do. Wasserfest Kids Area, Tiki Tikes and Treasure Island Kids Area are each complete water playgrounds with a collection of mini slides, sprayers, fountains an more. There are even more slides and attractions designed with toddlers in mind in the Torrent Beach Kids Pool and Shipwreck Harbor.

Are there height requirements on the rides?

Schlitterbahn uses an attraction rating system for all water attractions. An information sign is posted at each attraction entrance with ride descriptions, thrill rating and skills required for riding.

Riders must be at least 42 inches to experience the Dragonblaster, Loopy Luge and Guada-Loopy tube chutes and must be at least 48 inches to ride Rohr!, Faust and Furious, Cliffhangers, MASSIV, and the Screaming Serpents.

What if there is bad weather on the day of my visit?

Schlitterbahn will remain open on most rainy days; however, in the event of severe inclement weather, such as lightning, heavy rain, or high winds, Schlitterbahn attractions may need to close for the safety of our guests. In the event rides do shut down they will reopen as soon as it is safe. Since the waterpark remains open most rainy days, we do not offer rain checks or refunds.

What do we do if our party gets separated?

Make sure the kids who are old enough to be on their own know when and where to check in periodically for sunscreen and drink breaks. Schlitterbahn does not page for lost parties. Children should be instructed in advance that, if they do become separated, they should notify a Schlitterbahn employee. All separated parties will be taken to the nearest Guest Services location.

Do you have changing facilities?

Changing areas are located in the bathrooms at the main Castle Village. Please be sure to bring swim diapers for infants. Regular diapers are not permitted in any pool or attraction. Swim diapers are available at the gift shops.

Do you have a place for valuables? 

It is best to leave them at home. Please don't bring them into the park or leave them exposed in your car. Lock money and keys in a locker instead of keeping them in pockets where they may fall out in the rides. Schlitterbahn is not responsible for items that are lost or stolen in the park or in the parking lots. (Lockers are available for a fee plus deposit. The deposit is refunded when the key is returned.) We recommend putting vehicle keys in a locker along with your valuables or securing them so they don't fall out of your pocket.

Schlitterbahn has got you covered for a fun and convenient way to splash, swim, ride, and eat without carrying your credit card or cash with Splash Cash “Cashless Wristbands”. We want you to enjoy the day with your family without worrying about misplacing your money or the hassle of going to and from your locker. You can get your Cashless Wristbands at any ticket booth, Season Pass processing office, Guest Services, Locker Rentals, or any gift shop with no fees to participate.

The technological waterproof wristband can be loaded with the amount of money that you would like to have available on the day of your visit. Splash Cash “Cashless Wristband” can be used for food, beverages, lockers, and gift shop purchases throughout the park*. The unused balance can be unloaded at the end of the day of your visit. Any balance left over on unused bands will expire after 4 days of your visit and cannot be returned.  Enjoy fast, easy transactions and without the hassle of carrying or losing cash or credit card!
 
Step 1: Visit one of the above mentioned places to get started with a Splash Cash “Cashless Wristband”. To load your wristband, we will accept cash or credit cards. You may load your band with any amount and the wristband is FREE!
 
Step 2: Scan your wristband at any shop or food stand to make a purchase.
 
Step 3: Stop by any Gift Shop on your way out to unload any remaining money on your wristband to your original form of purchase.
 
*Splash Cash “Cashless Wristbands” purchases cannot be used at the Photo Haus.

Glasses will come off on some rides, so secure them with a neck strap (available at our gift shops).
