Thank you for your interest in working at Schlitterbahn Galveston Waterpark - the #1 Indoor Waterpark in the U.S.A.!

Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark is nestled along the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico on the beautiful and historic Galveston Island.

Five-Star Guest Amenities - Schlitterbahn is proud to offer family amenities that include free parking, free inner tubes and a limited number of free lifejackets. Guests are also welcome to bring a family picnic basket, excluding alcohol and glass containers, into the parks.

Schlitterbahn Galveston Island's 6503 square meter indoor/outdoor waterpark features more than 20 rides including children activity areas, speed slides, tube slides, group slides, a continuous river system with rapids, wave pools, hot tubs, a stationary surfing wave, uphill water coasters, and multiple food stands, retail shops, changing room with showers, lockers and group areas.

Wasserfest - a 650 square meter convertible indoor section, is the first of its kind in the world. The walls and ceilings open and close with the flip of a switch when it rains or the weather starts to get cold. The air and water are heated to at least 26 Celsius in the winter. Wasserfest includes four tube chutes, three speed slides,  a river system with beach area, hot tub with swim up bar and three children activity areas.

Surfenburg - the largest of the three sections of our world-class waterpark, includes several group areas, multiple shaded huts with picnic tables, secluded beaches, and a river which connects all three sections of the park, a stationary wave called the Boogie Bahn, locker rentals, two family slides, two up-hill water coasters, teen tube slides, a family wave pool and a large children's activity area.

Blastenhoff - the newest section of the waterpark, features a large group tent, a play area for children complete with a pirate ship, four speed slides, a river with rapids, a hot tub with swim up bar, and numerous beaches.

Background - Schlitterbahn, which means 'slippery road' in German, opened in 1979 with four water slides starting from a German-style tower. The tower was patterned after the Bergfried Guard Tower in Braunfels, Germany - home of the original settlers of New Braunfels. The Henry family built the tower and the slides on a hill next to a riverfront resort called Landa Resort.

There are three Schlitterbahn Waterparks, the original in New Braunfels, Texas, Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark on South Padre Island, Texas, and the newest member of the "American's First Family of Waterparks," Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark in historic Galveston, Texas. Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort on the banks of the spring-fed Comal River in New Braunfels opened in 1979 and includes a huge waterpark and two resorts. Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark next to Gulf of Mexico on South Padre Island opened in 2001 and includes a cutting-edge waterpark and a full-service restaurant. A fourth park is currently under construction in Kansas City, Kansas.
