Lifeguards
Lifeguards
are the first line in guest safety and service. These
staff members have a large amount of guest interaction, and
the greatest opportunity to ensure that guests have a safe
visit to the park. Job duties include, but are not limited
to ensuring guest safety, maintaining high standards of
safety, various tasks including cleaning the park and
picking up and removing trash, tubes and assistance with
line control. This job requires physical stamina and
extended periods of time in various weather conditions and
temperatures. Lifeguards can be audited at any time to
establish their skill levels and attentiveness. It is
possible to be promoted to a lead or supervisor based on
excellent performance.
Lifeguards must
be able to stand for 8-10 hour shifts and work in various
weather conditions (i.e. hot, humid, air conditioning,
rain). Work is done outdoors only. Weather conditions can be
extreme with high humidity and temperatures up to 40 degrees
Celsius. Lifeguards work in various locations throughout the
park. In some positions it will be necessary to stand for
the duration of the shift. Lifeguard uniforms will be
provided via payroll deduction. These items include: swim
trunks for men, one piece swimsuits for women, a rash guard
and/or t-shirt, lanyard with whistle, hat, water bottle and
safety pack with first aid equipment. White socks and white
or black based tennis shoes or sandals with straps across
the ankle are the only footwear permitted. Shirts and/or
rash guards must be tucked in at all times. No flip-flop
shoes allowed.
Meet your
boss - Doug White, Director of Operations - Doug has
been a Schlitterbahn employee for over 16 years. He knows
the waterpark business inside and out, especially
Schlitterbahn Waterparks. Doug has worked for Schlitterbahn
New Braunfels, Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark and most
recently joined the Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Family in
August of 2005. Doug heads up the Operations department, and
has two managers, Christopher Williams and Joe Kowrach, who
assist with employee and park operations.

Cashiers
Cashier
job duties include, but are limited to selling tickets,
merchandise, or food using a cash register/computer, giving
out maps, putting on and removing armbands for guests,
searching coolers, assisting with line control, cleaning
work stations and work areas, and providing park
information. It is possible to be promoted to a lead or a
supervisor based on excellent performance. Must be able to
stand for 8-10 hour shift and work in various weather
conditions (i.e. hot, humid, air conditioning, rain). Work
is done indoors and outdoors. Weather conditions can be
extreme with high humidity and temperatures up to 40 degrees
Celsius.
Cashier staff work in various locations throughout
the park. It may be necessary to stand for the duration of
the shift. Khaki walking shorts that are no more than 6
inches above the knee, white socks and white-based tennis
shoes must be worn. Shorts must be a professional length.
Men's shorts may not be longer than the bottom of their knee
caps. Ladies shorts should be approximately fingertip length
when are are at your sides. Capri pants are acceptable.
Belts must be worn. No flip-flop shoes allowed.
Meet your boss -
Stacy Reny, Director of Admissions -
Stacy Reny has
been a Schlitterbahn employee for a year and a half, but she
is no stranger to the amusement industry. Stacy began her
theme park career with Astro World, a Six Flags park in
Houston, Texas. Stacy takes everything about Schlitterbahn
to heart. She loves greeting guests, and working with the
Schlitterbahn team each day.
Stacy heads up
the Admissions department, and has one manager, Meosha Rice
who assists with employee and park operations.
Stacy was born
in Texas and raised in both Texas and Maine. She lives on
Galveston Island, but has friends and family that stretch
all the way to Houston. Stacy is active in volunteer,
church and community organizations. On her days off, Stacy
enjoys nothing more than spending the day with her family
and friends.

Food & Beverage
Food and
Beverage job duties include, but are not limited to food
kitchen prep, line cooks, prep cooks, catering, food
handling, cleaning work stations and cart positions. It
is possible to be promoted to a lead or a supervisor based
on excellent performance.
Food and
beverage must be able to stand for 8-10 hour shifts and work
in various weather conditions (i.e. hot, humid, air
conditioning, rain). Work is done inside and at outside
positions, where weather conditions can be extreme with high
humidity and temperatures up to 40 degrees Celsius. Food and
beverage employees work in fast food kitchen environments.
These kitchens are hot and busy. There are no sit-down
restaurants.
Schlitterbahn Polo shirts,
baseball caps and water bottles will be provided via payroll
deduction. Navy walking shorts that are no more than 6
inches above the knee, white socks and black based tennis
shoes are required. Shorts must be a professional length.

Park Service
Park Service
job duties include, but are not limited to cleaning
the park, sweeping walkways, decks and paved areas, removing
litter, emptying ashtrays and trash cans,
clean guest bathroom areas, light housekeeping duties in
office areas, line control, hosing down pedestrian areas,
cleaning benches and tables, moving and inflating tubes and
guest service. It is possible to be promoted to a lead or
supervisor position based on excellent performance.
Park service
employees must be able to stand for 8-10 hour shifts and
work in various weather conditions (i.e. hot, humid, air
conditioning, rain). Work is done outdoors only. Weather
conditions can be extreme with high humidity and
temperatures up to 40 degrees Celsius. Park Service staff
work in various locations throughout the park. It may be
necessary to stand for the duration of the shift. Navy
walking shorts that are no more than 6 inches above the
knee, white socks and black based tennis shoes. Shorts must
be a professional length. Men's shorts may not be longer
than the bottom of knee caps. Ladies shorts should be
approximately fingertip length when arms are at the your
sides. Capri pants are acceptable. Belts must be worn. No
flip-flop allowed.
Meet your
boss - Chris Williams, Manager of Operations - Chris
Williams has been a Schlitterbahn employee for over three
years. Chris has a special place in his heart for
Schlitterbahn, and has worked at Schlitterbahn Beach
Waterpark and Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark.
Chris is
responsible for the employees in the Operations Department
which includes first aid, lifeguards, tube repair and park
services positions. Chris is 27
years old, was born and raised in Texas, and has a dog named
Sable. Chris loves to relax with friends and eating sweets.

Water Quality
Water Quality
responsibilities include, but are not limited to ensuring
our multiple pool systems are ready for our guest every morning.
This includes, handling pool-cleaning equipment to clean in
and around each pool environment and assisting technicians
in providing a safe environment for our guests. Early
morning shifts are required. Must be able to stand for 8-10
hour shifts and work in various weather conditions (i.e.
hot, humid, air conditioning, rain). Work is done outdoors
only. Weather conditions can be extreme with high humidity
and temperatures up to 40 degrees Celsius. Water Quality
employees can work in various locations throughout the park.
In some instances, it will be necessary to stand for the
duration of the shift. Heavy lifting (5022 kilograms),
bending and pulling are required.
Polo shirts,
baseball caps and water bottles will be provided via payroll
deduction. Khaki walking shorts that are no more than 6
inches above the knee, white socks and white or black based
tennis shoes must be worn while working. Shorts must be a
professional length. Men's shorts may not be longer than the
bottom of their knee caps. Ladies shorts should be
approximately fingertip length when arms are at your
sides. Capri pants are acceptable. Belts must be worn. No
flip-flop shoes allowed.
Meet your
boss - Neal Jerome, Director of Maintenance - Neal
Jerome has been a Schlitterbahn employee for two years, but
he is no stranger to the amusement industry. Neal began his
theme park career with Astro World, a Six Flags park in
Houston, Texas. Neal has been in the maintenance with an
emphasis in pools and water quality, since his early
twenties.
Neal heads up
the Maintenance Department, and a staff that includes
general labor, electricians, water quality, carpentry and
landscaping to name a few. Neal has lived in Texas for quite
some time, He is married and has two daughters. Neal loves
animals and spends most of the free time taking care of his
exotic pets.
