Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark is a 26-acre oasis featuring
the world’s first indoor / outdoor 70,000 square-foot heated-convertible
waterpark area. Schlitterbahn Galveston Island is the third waterpark in
the family of parks and features more than 30 attractions designed in
the Schlitterbahn tradition of ride innovation. The park also features
the next generation of the award-winning Transportainment® river system

ATTRACTIONS |
The attractions in
Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark cover approximately
15 acres. German-style castle spires and architecture
provide the visual focal point. The park also offers
restaurants, retail shops, changing facilities with showers
and lockers, group areas, plus more than 30 state-of-the-art
attractions.

Blastenhoff
The outdoor Blastenoff section opened seven new attractions
in 2007:

Relax in an enormous hot tub with swim-up bar.
Cliffhanger – Freefall
from a height of 81 feet and reach speeds approaching 40
mph.
F5: Twin Twisters

Secluded Beaches
- Listen to crashing waves and lounge along the shoreline at

Bahnzai Pipeline
– Three different body slides that are the perfect size for
the not-so-brave-of-heart.
Boogie Bahn – Surf an
endless wave that provides the exhilaration and challenge of
ocean body surfing.
Dragon Blaster
and The Tempest Uphill Water Coasters – Dare to
defy gravity on two different uphill water coasters that
utilize high velocity water propulsion to rocket riders up
hills before plunging thrill-seekers down roller
coaster-style drops.
Kristal Bay, Kristal Beach
and Kristal Cove – Relax on a secluded shoreline along
the Kristal River.
Kristal River – Float
along a meandering waterway that transports guests around
the Surfenburg area and merges into the Transportainment
interconnected river system.
The Pointe – Dine
above the banks of the Kristal River. Relax with your
favorite adult beverage or select something good to eat.
Thunder Tub – Race
down successive drops aboard a four-person raft.
Tiki Tikes – Kids
climb and slide on this tropical hut full of whimsical
surprises. Beware of the tipping coconut.
Wave Lagoon – Relax
under a gigantic palapa to the sound of waves crashing
against the shore. Enter the lagoon and enjoy family-sized
waves.
Wolf Pack - Twist and
turn, giggle and scream aboard a family-friendly rafting
adventure down a white-water channel.

Wasserfest™
Wasserfest is a 70,000-square-foot climate controlled
convertible indoor/ outdoor area of the park that includes a
dozen heated-water attractions:

Faust & Furious
– Choose between two speed slides for the ultimate race
downhill. The 312-foot long adventure begins more than 60
feet in the air.
Guada-Loopy Tube Chutes – Climb aboard for a
whitewater journey…. in the dark! Select between two
completely enclosed tube slides that begin more than
four-stories high and run more than 390 feet long.
Loopy Luge Tube Chutes
– Hop in a tube and experience sharp curves and sudden
drops. Select between two unique slides that begin more than
four-stories high and run more than 390 feet long.
Rohr! – Get ready to
break the speed limit! Dare to take a vertical plunge from
the top of a 60-foot-high tower then travel faster than 30
mph down a 244-foot-long body slide back to the bottom.
Torrent Beach – Relax
on a secluded shoreline.
Torrent Beach Kids’ areas
– Two play structures await young adventure seekers.
Torrent® River - A
Schlitterbahn original! Adventure along a “tidal wave
river” that generates continuous waves that carries inner
tube riders along a meandering waterway that curves in and
around other Wasserfest attractions. Guests float endlessly
around a 1,250-foot-long, 20-foot-wide river.
Wasserfest Hot Tub –
Relax in the ultimate 1,100-square-foot spa including a
swim-up bar.
Wasserfest Kids’ Area
includes an activity pool with a Beached Boat Slide, a Gang
Slide and a Water Drop shower.

Family-friendly amenities
include free parking and free inner tubes. Guests are also
welcome to bring a family picnic basket, excluding alcohol
and glass containers, into the park.

BACKGROUND: |
Schlitterbahn currently
operates three waterparks on Galveston Island, in New
Braunfels and on South Padre Island, Texas. The
flagship park in New Braunfels, which opened in 1979,
features more than 40 family attractions and 238 overnight
rooms. It is the most popular summertime waterpark in
the United States and has been rated the World’s number one
waterpark by the Travel Channel.
The 26-acre Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark on South Padre
Island opened in 2001 and features a dozen attractions,
including the state-of-the-art Transportainment river system
that transports guests between rides on water.
Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark has received the industry’s
top awards for design innovation.
In 2006, Schlitterbahn
Galveston Island Waterpark opened as the world’s first
convertible waterpark. The park also features more
than 30 world-class attractions and the signature
Transportainment interconnecting river system. |
