New Logo and More Unveiled as Construction Continues

KANSAS CITY, Kansas – The new Schlitterbahn Vacation Village Waterpark is coming to Kansas City and it’s coming soon! Construction at this amazing new destination continues with the first phase of the world-class Schlitterbahn waterpark on track for a summer 2009 opening. A new logo for Schlitterbahn Vacation Village Waterpark and other visual elements provide more evidence that the Kansas City Schlitterbahn team is ramping up to open the first phase of the waterpark this summer.

With the spotlight now shining on the waterpark portion of the one-of-a-kind Schlitterbahn Vacation Village resort, a colorful new logo is unveiled. The Schlitterbahn brand is strongly represented in a style that not only shows unique qualities of the Kansas City area, but also is consistent with those of other Schlitterbahn waterpark locations.

Other notable visual items include the launch of the new SchlitterBlog, new Web pages, and other on-site activities. SchlitterBlog, the official blog of Schlitterbahn Waterparks, is an informal social networking tool that delivers news in a fun interactive format (subscribe at http://schlitterblogkc.blogspot.com). New informative Web pages are live at schlitterbahn.com/kc and bright new signs and banners are popping up at the park to reinforce the message that phase one of the waterpark is opening this season.

The park opens with more than a dozen state-of-the-art attractions including the world’s largest tidal wave river, an uphill Master Blaster™ water coaster, a hot tub with swim-up bar, four mammoth tubing rivers and chutes, six giant water slides, an interactive area for smaller children and more. Additional waterpark attractions, destination shopping, dining and unique lodging facilities open in future phases.

“It is important for our guests to realize that this is just the beginning of Schlitterbahn Vacation Village, and this is the message we are conveying,” stated Michael Catcott, project executive for the Schlitterbahn Vacation Village. “The thrilling waterpark that opens in 2009 provides an adventure like Kansas City has never experienced, and it may be difficult for guests to believe that there is even more to come, but there is.”

In the weeks to come, Schlitterbahn Vacation Village Waterpark plans to announce the exciting details about each attraction in this amazing collection of fun that will be available to visitors in 2009. The opening schedule for the waterpark will also be announced soon.
