NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – The Schlitterbahn
family was again honored this week with top awards during the 2009
Golden Ticket Award ceremony hosted at LEGOLAND California, Carlsbad,
CA. Awards included: World’s Best Waterpark – twelve consecutive years,
World’s Best New Ride – The Congo River Expedition and the World’s Best
Waterpark Ride –Master Blaster for eleven years.
Nicknamed the “Academy Awards of the Amusement Park Industry,” the
Golden Ticket Awards are presented annually by Amusement Today, an
industry trade magazine based in Arlington, Texas. The winners are
determined by the results of an international survey conducted among
hundreds of well-traveled enthusiasts and amusement park aficionados.
“Every year we cross our fingers, hold our breath and wait for the
Golden Ticket results. Our team goes to great lengths to make sure we
