Schlitterbahn Announces New Charity Fundraiser:
Schlitterbahn's Family Adventure Race
Benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters
First annual family challenge adventure competition
hosted at Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort on Saturday, April 17 at 10 a.m.

NEW BRAUNFELS, TEXAS – Advance registration is now underway for Schlitterbahn’s first Family Adventure Race scheduled Saturday, April 17 at 10 a.m. Families and friends are encouraged to enter and “compete” as a team of four in 12 invigorating challenges that test knowledge, skill, talent and athleticism. Teams who register before April 9 will receive an event t-shirt as an early registration gift.

The inaugural event’s family challenges include climbing, sack racing, dancing, golfing, obstacle courses and much more. Teams can be made up of a family of four or of four best friends. After the event, prizes and recognition will be awarded in several categories.

Austin St. in New Braunfels. Challenge stations are also available for sponsorship. “Schlitterbahn is proud to kick off our 31st season with a new fun family-friendly competition,” said Darren Hill, general manager of Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort, “In addition to family bonding, the excitement of competition and raising money for Big Brothers Big Sisters, each team member will receive a complimentary Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort admission ticket to come back and enjoy the park,” Hill added.

Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort’s 31st year kicks off the weekend after the Family Adventure Race event on Saturday, April 24, for weekend operation. Parking is free and outside food and beverages, excluding alcohol and glass containers, may be brought into the park.

The flagship park in New Braunfels, which opened in 1979, features more than 40 family attractions and 232 overnight accommodations.
