GALVESTON ISLAND, TEXAS
– Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark introduces the new
Blastenhoff area featuring seven new attractions, more picnic tables,
more lounge chairs, more shade and more guest amenities. The massive
Blastenhoff expansion increases the park’s guest areas by almost 30%.
Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark opens for the summer season
beginning April 21.
“Our new area is huge in size and scope,” explained Ron Sutula, general
manager of Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark. “Not only will our
guests be entertained by seven new attractions, but there are also more
places for our guests to spread out to have their family picnic or even
to lounge and relax.”

Hot Tub – Relax in an enormous hot tub with swim-up bar.

Cliffhangers – Freefall from a height of 81 feet and reach speeds
approaching 40 mph.

Twisters – Slide inside a twisting turning storm full of
surprises and thrills.

Beaches – Listen to crashing waves and lounge along the
shoreline at two new beaches.

Island Kids’ Area - Ahoy…. Enjoy a ship full of slides and
fun designed for the youngest of treasure hunters.

Wasserfest Open Today
for Spring Break
Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark’s Wasserfest area is open daily
for spring breakers through March 18. Guests can enjoy a dozen heated,
climate controlled attractions between the park hours of 10 am – 5 pm.
The 70,000 square-foot indoor / outdoor convertible Wasserfest area
operates year-round (weekends and select holidays) and offers more than
a dozen heated waterpark attractions including four tube slides, three
speed slides, three kids’ activity areas containing a variety of
children’s play elements and pint-sized slides, a secluded beach, a hot
tub and the Torrent® tidal wave river.
Wasserfest tickets are available at the discounted rate of $25.59 for
adult all-day admission and $20.99 for children, ages 3 – 11, and
seniors, 55 years or older. Afternoon admission tickets are available
for $17.89 for adults and $14.65 for children and seniors. Two-day
tickets are $40.79 for adults and $32.47 for children and seniors. Taxes
are not included in the ticket price. For guests looking for even more
of a deal, discount tickets are available at participating HEB locations
and discount coupons are available at the Galveston Island Visitor’s
center located on 61st street.
During summer operations, the new Blastenhoff, Surfenburg and Wasserfest
areas incorporate state-of-the-art attractions including two uphill
water coasters, a wave pool, water slides, kids’ playgrounds, whitewater
rapids, hot tubs, the Boogie Bahn surf ride and the exclusive
Transportainment® interconnected river system.

Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark is the third waterpark in the
