What do

All finishers will receive a custom pewter medal and
a free ticket to Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort in New
Braunfels. You can use your tickets to splash
into Schlitterbahn any regular operating day through
June 15, 2009. Plus, participants who register by April
1st will receive a free t-shirt in their triathlon
packet.
How do I register?
Register
online
at active.com or fill out a paper entry form and mail it
in. All entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. on
Thursday, April 16 or until registration reaches
capacity (350 participants).
How do
I determine the age group I will be racing with?
The length of your race depends on your date of
birth and is determined using USAT regulations based on
age as of December 31, 2009. For example, if you turn
eleven any time in 2009, you will race with ages 11-14
even if you are ten years old on race day.
How are places and prizes awarded?
Individual racers will compete and be awarded as
follows: Ages 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14. For instance,
if your age category is 8 years-old you will race the
same distance as everyone 7-10, but you will place among
racers 7-8. *Please note: Relay teams will still
compete in the greater age range to allow flexibility in
team ages.
Do I
have to do it all?
No, you can just do one part of the race and get two
friends to do the other two. For example, you can do the
running while your brother does the biking and a friend
does the swimming. This is called a relay team. If you
decide to race with teammates outside your age category,
you will not be eligible to place.
When is Packet Pick Up?
Registered athletes can pick up their race packets at
course orientation at Schlitterbahn Waterpark on
Saturday, April 11th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. or
Friday, April 17th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the
the entrance to Blastenhoff at Schlitterbahn Waterpark
in New Braunfels. Please note: There will be NO race
day registration or packet pick up.
What
is USAT?
USAT
stands for USA Triathlon, the governing body for
triathlon in the USA. The Schlitterbahn Triathlon is an
official USAT event. That means that you need to be a
member of USAT to participate. If you are not a member,
you can purchase a USAT membership for $5 when you
register. If you are already a member, be sure to bring
your membership card and a photo ID when you pick up
your race packet.
