What is the best time to come to Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark?

To avoid crowds on peak weekends, come early or late in the season. Weekends in April, May, early June, late August, September are less crowded than Saturdays in July and early August.

What time does the afternoon discount rate begin?

The afternoon admission rate begins at 3:00 p.m.

If I purchase a two-day pass, do I have to use it on consecutive days?

No, you may use the second day at a later date at the park where it was purchased. You must, however, use the pass prior to the end of the summer season during which it was bought. Two-day passes are not transferable or refundable and must be used by the same person for each visit.

Where can I get discounted tickets?

We have a variety of options for groups of 15 or more. Plus Schlitterbahn Waterparks supports active military members by offering military discount admission tickets at most active-duty military installations in the state of Texas, as well as several military installations in Louisiana and Oklahoma. Discounted tickets are available at ITT or ITR offices. Please note that Ft. Sam Houston, located in the greater San Antonio area, has tickets available at the Sam Houston Club.

Tickets purchased online can quickly and easily be scanned from your mobile device using your email confirmation.

Do I have to pay even if I don't get into the water?

With the most technically-advanced water attractions on the planet for all ages, you'll certainly not want to miss the fun of Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark. Waterpark guests purchase special wristbands that allow them access to all of the attractions. You may, however, visit the gift shop, Shrimp Haus restaurant and Main Palapa areas without purchasing a waterpark admission ticket.

Can I bring a picnic to the park?

Yes you can, but you certainly don't need to. Schlitterbahn Beach offers a wide variety of fun foods, wait service, even a full-service air-conditioned restaurant. If you do bring a picnic, please do not bring alcohol or glass containers. All ice chests and picnic supplies are checked upon entry. Guests with picnic items may use picnic tables located inside the actual waterpark area. Seating under the Grand Palapa overlooking the Rio Beach wave lagoon is reserved for guests using our wait service.

Rent your own exclusive, all-day Cabana or BBQ Palapa!!

Cabanas include covered seating for six people, table, six bottled waters and table-side wait service. Cabanas are rented on a first-come, first-served basis or with a pre-paid reservation. A maximum of 6 people are allowed in any one cabana. Cabanas are located near the Sandcastle area and on the new Cabana Island. Call 956.772.7873 ext. 3211 for rental availability.
BBQ Palapas are available for groups and are located around the Lilypad children's area in the North Beach area of the park. Covered seating for 35 - 300 people and your own BBQ grill are included. Palapas require a minimum of 25 tickets purchased through the Group Sales Department for a Saturday rental and a minimum of 15 tickets purchased through the Group Sales Department for a Sunday rental. Reservations of palapas are not complete until payment is received. Call 956.772.7873 ext. 3210 for rental availability.

Is there shade?

Shaded seating is provided throughout the park, but we urge everyone to protect delicate skin from the sun with sunscreen, hats, beach footwear, and lightweight shirts. You may bring these items with you or purchase them in one of our gift shops.

Do you have life jackets?

We have a limited number of life jackets for use by our guests at no charge. They're available at the customer service desks. Or if you prefer, you may bring your own life jackets. Personal floatation devices may not be used.

What about toddlers?

Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark's Lily Pad wading pool is the perfect spot for young children and families. The raining mushroom and frog slide will entice your young ones to frolic in the water.

What if there is bad weather on the day of my visit?

In the event of inclement weather, Schlitterbahn attractions remain open unless there is lightning in the area. Rides will reopen as soon as the lightning leaves the area. Plus, the indoor park remains open unless there is severe weather! Sorry no refunds or rain checks are issued. Check the forecast here.

What do we do if our party gets separated?

Establish a time and place to meet. Make sure the kids are old enough to be on their own and know when and where to check in periodically for sunscreen and drink breaks. Schlitterbahn Beach does not page.

Do you have changing facilities?

Yes, changing facilities are located in the main restroom/locker area. Please be sure to bring diapers for infants. Regular diapers are not permitted in any pool or water attraction. Swim diapers are available in the gift shop.

Do you have a place for valuables?

It is best to leave them at home. Please don't bring them into the park or leave them exposed in your car. Lock money and keys in a locker instead of keeping them in pockets where they may fall out in the rides. Schlitterbahn is not responsible for items that are lost or stolen in the park or in the parking lots. (Lockers are available for a fee plus deposit. The deposit is refunded when the key is returned.) We recommend putting vehicle keys in a locker along with your valuables or securing them so they don't fall out of your pocket.
Schlitterbahn also offers "Splash Cash®" which are waterproof wristbands with tabs in several denominations that can be used for food, beverages and gift shop purchases throughout the park. Splash Cash® may be purchased at ticket booths, gift shops and locker rental locations. Unused tabs, which are still attached to the wristband, may be redeemed for cash at the end of the day at any register location. You may still have change to deal with, so zippered pockets or cash totes are handy ways to carry loose coins.
Glasses will come off on some rides, so secure them with a neck strap (available at our gift shops).
