10 Fun Facts About the Rides at Schlitterbahn Galveston

Located just outside Houston on historic Galveston Island, the park offers 31 attractions with adventures from mild to wild. Schlitterbahn Galveston is the “Hottest, Coolest Time in Texas” with 26 acres of world-class outdoor waterpark fun.
Since we are counting down the days until we reopen next season, we thought it would be fun to share some history and fun facts about water slides throughout the park. How many of these fun facts did you know?!
1. DRAGON BLASTER
The Master Blaster opened in 1996 at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels. Using this same patented "Master Blaster" technology, the Dragon Blaster propels riders uphill with jets of water. Riders then drop 20 feet and race through a series of dips, tunnels, twists and turns.
2. BOOGIE BAHN
Surfers from all over the world have tested their skills on Boogie Bahn. Boogie Bahn debuted at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels in 1991 and we knew it needed to come to Schlitterbahn Galveston. This water ride uses 50,000 gallons of water a minute to keep the waves coming for guests to ride.
3. FAUST UND FURIOUS
The Faust Und Furious twin speed slides make for the ultimate downhill race! These slides begin at a 60 foot height in the air and drop riders down a steep spiral down two 300-foot speed slides. Faust Und Furious was also featured on the Travel Channel on "Xtreme Waterparks."
4. INFINITY RACERS
The Infinity Racers debuted in 2019 to take on an out-of-this-world space experience. We chose a space theme to honor NASA and the Johnson Space Center nearby our park. The ride is eight stories tall and 696 feet long (as long as two space stations), making it the world's tallest and longest pair of mat racers.
5. GUADA LOOPY
Guada Loopy, not to be confused with Loopy Luge, is a 390 foot journey in a tube. Both Guada Loopy and Loopy Luge have the same ride lines, entrance and exit points, but are two different ride journeys! Both rides also include refurbished slides from other waterparks to minimize wasted materials.
6. MASSIV
First opened in 2016, Massiv, was a celebration to our fans and 10 years of Schlitterbahn Galveston. The water coaster is named after the German word for "massive." One day prior to Massiv's opening, Schlitterbahn had an official judge from Guinness World Records certify that MASSIV was indeed the world’s tallest water coaster at the time at a record breaking 81 feet 6.72 inches tall!
7. ROHR!
Rohr! is Schlitterbahn Galveston's only vertical drop slide. This slide gives guests a vertical plunge from the top of a 70-foot tall tower, with speeds faster than 30 mph down a 244 foot-long slide. Rohr! originally debuted as a pink slide, but has recently been repainted with white and blue stripes.
8. SCREAMING SERPENTS
The Screaming Serpents, replaced the F5 twisting slides back in 2014, and takes riders on a journey of speed. The ride is more than 280-feet in length, but lasts only 10-15 seconds because it offers guests a speed of up to 40 miles per hour!
9. WHITEWATER RIVER
Whitewater River is part of Schlitterbahn Galveston's first-of-its-kind Transportainment river system. This includes three separate tubing rivers that combine for one never-ending float. The other two rivers are Kristal River and Torrent River. Instead of walking to the next water slide, our guests can stay in the water and tube to most rides, having fun all the way there!
10. WOLFPACK
One of the park's original rides at Schlitterbahn Galveston's opening in 2006, Wolfpack, is one of our two family three-person raft rides. Wolfpack differs from Thunder Tub in that it has more twists and turns than steep drops.
