General Park Questions

For the best experience, visit Schlitterbahn on a weekday. If you must plan your visit on a weekend, we suggest weekends early or late in the season, or on a Sunday in late June, July and early August. Saturdays in late June, July and early August are the most popular days to visit the park, and you may experience longer waits for admission and attractions and limited availability of picnic tables, loungers and tubes. Whenever you do choose a day to visit, plan to arrive early -- Schlitterbahn is a big place and you'll want to experience it all.

Schlitterbahn partners with "Photo Haus" to take pictures of guests throughout the water park. Photos are available for purchase inside of the main entrance, next to Island Outfitters gift shop. NOTE: Photos are deleted after seven days. However, if you have recently had photos taken and still have your number, please contact Mike Davis at 830.743.3289 to see if they are still available. Please include your Name, Phone, Address, Park Location, Sticker Number, and Day of Visit.

Yes, with all the great water attractions at Schlitterbahn Galveston Island you won't want to stay out of the water! Besides our thrilling slides and blasters, there are relaxing pools, rivers, hot tubs, and swim-up bars.

You are more than welcome to bring your own family picnic basket and ice chests inside the park. Please do not bring glass containers or alcohol. All ice chests and picnic supplies are inspected prior to entering the park. Schlitterbahn Galveston Island also offers a wide variety of fun foods and beverages throughout the park for those who do not wish to bring their own picnic.

Shaded seating is provided throughout the park, but we urge everyone to protect delicate skin from the sun with sunscreen, hats, beach footwear, and lightweight shirts. You may bring these items with you or purchase them in one of our gift shops. 

During the summer season, our park offers a limited number of cabanas that are available for advance rental on a first-come-first serve basis. The cabanas are located in the Blastenhoff area of the waterpark. Private cabana rentals are not available during the Wasserfest Season. 

We have a limited number of life jackets for our guests at no charge. They're available on all of our river beaches on a first-come first-serve basis. You may also bring your own life jacket. We do have a limited number of kid's tubes, or tubes with bottoms. Kid's tubes are complimentary and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Guests may not use their own recreational flotation devices in the waterpark. Personal life-jackets are always welcome!

Schlitterbahn Galveston Island has attractions for smaller children in every section of the park, so there is always something to do. Wasserfest Kids Area, Tiki Tikes, and Treasure Island Kids Area are each complete water playgrounds with a collection of mini slides, sprayers, fountains, and more. There are even more slides and attractions designed with toddlers in mind in the Torrent Beach Kids Pool and Shipwreck Harbor.

Schlitterbahn uses an attraction rating system for all water attractions. An information sign is posted at each attraction entrance with ride descriptions, thrill rating and skills required for riding. Riders must be at least 42 inches to experience the Dragonblaster, Loopy Luge and Guada-Loopy tube chutes and must be at least 48 inches to ride Rohr!, Faust and Furious, Cliffhangers, MASSIV, and the Screaming Serpents.

Schlitterbahn aims to create an enjoyable experience for people of all shapes and sizes. For the safety of our guests, we do have weight restrictions on select attractions (including body slides and blasters) and restrictions do vary. Please see individual attractions for specific information on weight parameters.

Schlitterbahn will remain open on most rainy days; however, in the event of severe inclement weather, such as lightning, heavy rain, or high winds, Schlitterbahn attractions may need to close for the safety of our guests. In the event rides do shut down they will reopen as soon as it is safe. Since the waterpark remains open most rainy days, we do not offer rain checks or refunds.

Make sure the kids who are old enough to be on their own know when and where to check in periodically for sunscreen and drink breaks. Schlitterbahn does not page for lost parties. Children should be instructed in advance that, if they do become separated, they should notify a Schlitterbahn employee. All separated parties will be taken to the nearest Guest Services location.

Changing areas are located in the bathrooms at the main Castle Village. Please be sure to bring swim diapers for infants. Regular diapers are not permitted in any pool or attraction. Swim diapers are available at the gift shops.

It is best to leave them at home. Please don't bring them into the park or leave them exposed in your car. Lock money and keys in a locker instead of keeping them in pockets where they may fall out in the rides. Schlitterbahn is not responsible for items that are lost or stolen in the park or in the parking lots. We recommend putting vehicle keys in a locker along with your valuables or securing them so they don't fall out of your pocket.

Schlitterbahn has got you covered for a fun and convenient way to splash, swim, ride, and eat without carrying your credit card or cash with Splash Cash “Cashless Wristbands”. We want you to enjoy the day with your family without worrying about misplacing your money or the hassle of going to and from your locker. You can get your Cashless Wristbands at any ticket booth, Season Pass processing office, Guest Services, Locker Rentals, or any gift shop with no fees to participate.

The technological waterproof wristband can be loaded with the amount of money that you would like to have available on the day of your visit. Splash Cash “Cashless Wristband” can be used for food, beverages, and gift shop purchases throughout the park*. The unused balance can be unloaded at the end of the day of your visit. Any balance leftover on unused bands will expire after 4 days of your visit and cannot be returned.  Enjoy fast, easy transactions and without the hassle of carrying or losing cash or credit card!

*Splash Cash “Cashless Wristbands” purchases cannot be used at the Photo Haus or for Locker Rentals.

Step 1: Visit one of the above-mentioned places to get started with a Splash Cash “Cashless Wristband”. To load your wristband, we will accept cash or credit cards. You may load your band with any amount and the wristband is FREE!
 
Step 2: Scan your wristband at any shop or food stand to make a purchase.
 
Step 3: Stop by any Gift Shop on your way out to unload any remaining money on your wristband to your original form of purchase.
 
*Glasses will come off on some rides, so secure them with a neck strap (available at our gift shops).

Single Meal Deal
Enjoy one entree, side and a fountain drink.

All Day Dining
Guests with All Day Dining will receive a wristband at any of the participating locations and enjoy an entree and side as often as every 90 minutes! Drinks are not included. However, you may purchase a Souvenir Bottle online at our best price.

All Season Dining
When you purchase an All Season Dining Plan, it will automatically be uploaded to your season pass. Simply present your pass at any participating locations throughout the park and enjoy lunch and dinner (with only a 4 hour interval between meals) every time you visit. Drinks, snacks or desserts are not included but we offer a Souvenir Bottle for free drink refills* all season.

Single Meal Deal
Simply redeem your voucher at any participating locations for one entree, side, and a fountain drink. 

All Day Dining Plan
Guests with All Day Dining voucher will receive a wristband at any of the participating locations. Enjoy an entree and side as often as every 90 minutes throughout the day. Drinks are not included. We recommend adding a Souvenir Bottle with free refills on your first visit and $1 refills (plus tax) for the rest ofthe season with your All Day Dining purchase.

All Season Dining Plan
Guests with All Season Dining will automatically have it included on their Season Pass. Simply present your season pass at any of the participating locations throughout the park and enjoy lunch and dinner (with only a 4 hour interval between meals) every time you visit. Drinks, snacks or desserts are not included. We recommend purchasing the All Season Souvenir Bottle for free drink refills* all season with your All Season Dining Plan purchase.

All Season Dining added to a Season Pass is only valid for redemption exclusively by the registered passholder. Once All Season Dining is linked to a Season Pass, it is non-transferable. In order for benefits to be redeemed, the Season Pass must be used for admission on the same date.

All Day Dining
All Day Dining may be purchased in the park at any ticket window or participating dining location. Or, save yourself some time and purchase online before you go to the park. 

All Season Dining
Add the All Season Dining Plan onto your Season Pass and stay fueled for the fun all season long. All Season Dining includes lunch and dinner at participating locations throughout the park every time you visit during the season. 

The Basket Meal and Signature Basket Meal include a fountain drink. 

While the All Day and All Season Dining Plans do not include drinks, you may consider buying a Souvenir Bottle online. With a Souvenir Bottle, you can enjoy free refills all day long on your first visit and $1 (taxes included) refills for the rest of the season. Or, get free drink refills* all season long with the All Season Souvenir Bottle. Enjoy refreshing Coca-Cola beverages all day or all season. The choice is yours!

As a Platinum Passholder, the All Season Dining Plan and All Season Souvenir Bottle are valid at any Cedar Fair park within the U.S. and Canada. Simply present your Platinum Pass at any participating food locations during your park visit to enjoy lunch and dinner (with only a 4 hour interval time between meals) and free refills with your Souvenir Bottle.

You will not be able to use your Season Pass card if you forget your bottle.

You may refill as often as you like with a time window of 15 minutes between refills.

Visit Guest Services at the park and for a $2.99 replacement charge your bottle can be replaced. The barcode on the lost/stolen bottle will be deactivated so that it can no longer be used, and you can start to use your new bottle immediately. Deactivation and replacement can only be done if the All Season Souvenir Bottle has been added to a valid Season Pass, and can only be requested by the passholder. Souvenir Bottles not associated to a Season Pass cannot be deactivated and replaced.

Yes, present your All Season Souvenir Bottle at any Cedar Fair park to enjoy the same refill benefits.

You can use your souvenir bottle on any public operating day.

 

Photo Pass

It’s as easy as 1-2-3!

Purchase a Photo Pass plan online, at any front gate booth, or at any Photo Haus locations. Setup your account at any front gate location to attach your photo pass to your wristband (for Single Day Photo Passes) or to attach the photo pass to your Schlitterbahn Season Pass (for All Season Photo Passes).

Get your photo taken at different locations throughout the park! 

  1. At Photo ride locations, the photographer will hand you a wristband to attach your photos for the day.
  2. At the Photo Haus front gates show your Photo Haus wristbands to the associate to add your photos to your account.

  • Inside of the water park main entrance

To redeem a Single Day Photo Pass:

  • Print the e-ticket and bring it with you on the day of your visit to the park.
  • Present the e-ticket at any front gate entrance to get your photo pass connected to your wristband barcode
  • That's all there is to it! 

To redeem an All-Season Photo Pass Add-On:

  • Your All-Season Photo Pass will be associated with the Schlitterbahn Season Pass number entered during the purchase process.
  • Take your Schlitterbahn Season Pass that now has the photo add-on to a Photo Haus location at the park to setup your account.
  • That's all there is to it! 

To redeem an All-Season Photo Pass bought with your Schlitterbahn Season Pass:

  • Print the e-ticket and bring it with you to the Season Pass Processing Center.
  • At the Processing Center you will also setup your photo account.
  • That's all there is to it! 

It’s OK! As long as you have the purchase receipt on your mobile device, we can access the information we need from there. Or, visit a will call booth.

  • For Single Day Pass holders, Photo Haus photos will be available for 30 days. 

  • For All Season Pass holders, Photo Haus photos will be available until the end of the season.

No, the photo pass is already a tremendous value, so no additional discounts apply.

The All Season pass is available only to Schlitterbahn season passholders.

No, unfortunately the photo add-on is only available for the specific Schlitterbahn park you chose at check out.

When you renew your Schlitterbahn pass for the following season, just select the photo add-on during checkout to automatically renew.
