Cornerstone Award Winners - Schlitterbahn Waterparks

The Cedar Fair Cornerstone Pin is one of the highest honors and associate can receive while working at Schlitterbahn. Cornerstone pins are awarded on a monthly basis to full-time, part-time and seasonal associates. Recipients of the pin continually embody and demonstrate all of the Cedar Fair Cornerstone attributes which include: courtesy, service, cleanliness, safety and integrity.

Kristen Boggess

Full Time Operations Manager

Awarded: August 1st, 2020
Kristen demonstrates the ideal qualities in a leader and each of the Cornerstones demonstrates her character and dedication to her position and the company. Kristen works extremely well with other departments, fellow associates, and guests. She exceeds the standard for going out of her way to help others.

Valeria Padilla

Human Resources

Awarded: August 1st, 2020
Valeria is one of the most integral pieces to making our Human Resources department successful. Her bilingual skills and outstanding service capabilities make our associates feel welcome and appreciated. Valeria is outgoing and willing to do anything to make our park run smoothly.

Dylan Navarijo

Line Attendant

Awarded: August 1st, 2020
Dylan is a new associate this year, but has taken on his role and has embodied the Cornerstones since day one. He is always willing to do any task and is good at taking initiative to keep the park in order. Safety is a high priority to Dylan, and he is known for enforcing all policies and procedures with a smile on his face. He is a great reflection of our operations team and we hope to have him back next season.

Cesar Novoa

Food and Beverage Manager

Awarded: August 1st, 2020
Cesar is the embodiment of Living the Legacy. He started out as kitchen cook years ago and is now the frontline to the Food and Beverage team. Cesar provides exemplary service to our guests, but also provides the same service to our associates. He is willing to jump in and help out during busy times and does so with an outstanding attitude.

Austin Penrose

Park Services Supervisor

Austin takes pride in doing the right thing, even when no one is around. He is always honest and upfront about everything. Austin is one of the kindest people in our department and continues to set the example and strive towards excellence.

Ashleigh Gonzalez

Lifeguard

Ashleigh played an integral role in assisting a guest and was proud of the fact that she was able to use her skills to make a difference. She is always eager to make sure people are having a good day but has an intense focus on performing well in her position.

Serenity Fetherson

Admissions Supervisor

Awarded: August 1st, 2020
Serenity strives to treat each guest with the utmost respect and is courteous to everyone. Integrity is the Cornerstone that describes Serenity the most because she prides herself in always doing the right thing and being someone that other associates can count on.

Mary Rodriguez

Cash Control Lead

Awarded: August 1st, 2020
Mary has been a Schlitterbahn associate for 16 seasons. She loves Schlitterbahn more than anything and is an amazing guest service advocate for our parks. Many see Mary as a work “mom”, and she goes out of her way to really make everyone feel special and welcome.

Sam Bartos

Retail Manager

Sam has been part of the Schlitterbahn team for over a decade and has worked her way up to become a manager for the Retail department. Sam is always leading by example and is there for all of our associates as someone that they can rely on. Sam has been integral in making this season successful for the department.
