This is why Schlitterbahn New Braunfels is now a certified StormReady certified facility Safety of our guests and associates is our top priority and we are taking the necessary steps to be safe even in the most unpredictable circumstances.
The National Weather Service and Weather-Ready Nation prepares communities to be safe during extreme weather – from tornadoes to winter storms. StormReady programs are designed to help ensure readiness and action across the population as we work together to build a Weather-Ready Nation.
The commitment demonstrated by Schlitterbahn New Braunfels Waterpark and Resort to meet StormReady requirements is a recognition that advanced preparation and planning are essential components of protecting the parks guests and associates from extreme whether events.
To be officially StormReady, a community must:
- Establish a 24-hour warning point and emergency operations center
- Have more than one way to receive severe weather warnings and forecasts and to alert the public
- Create a system that monitors weather conditions locally
- Promote the importance of public readiness through community seminars
- Develop a formal hazardous weather plan, which includes training severe weather spotters and holding emergency exercises.
